About

About Rising Damp Adelaide

A referral service for Adelaide salt damp, built around one idea: the diagnosis should come from someone with no stake in the size of the repair.

Rising Damp Adelaide is a lead referral service. We arrange assessments with independent, appropriately licensed damp specialists working across Adelaide. We do not carry out the work ourselves.

Why this site exists

Salt damp is unusually easy to get wrong and unusually expensive to get wrong. Five or six different faults produce a wet wall at skirting height, they carry wildly different price tags, and the person diagnosing the problem is very often the person who profits from the answer. That is not an accusation of bad faith — it is a structural conflict, and it is why an independent written diagnosis before any quote is worth more here than in most trades.

How it works

You describe the problem

A short message and ideally a photo. Often enough for us to say whether an assessment is worth your time at all.

We arrange the assessment

With an independent specialist covering your suburb, who holds the licences the work requires in South Australia.

You get it in writing

The mechanism, the extent and the cause, before any price. That document is yours and you can take it anywhere.

You decide

There is no obligation to proceed, and no obligation to use whoever assessed it.

What we do not do

We do not carry out the work. We do not publish reviews or testimonials, because we would have to collect them before we could honestly show them. We do not claim a number of years in business, a licence number or an accreditation that belongs to someone else. And we do not quote a price sight unseen — the ranges on the cost page are ranges, deliberately, and a fixed price follows an assessment.

Where we cover

Adelaide's inner suburbs and the coast, which is where the pre-1930s stone and brick stock sits. If you are outside that and unsure, ask — we will tell you plainly whether we can help rather than take the enquiry and work it out later.

Suburbs we cover

The oldest stone stock sits in the inner ring and along the coast, and that is where most of the calls come from.
